People would be a lot more rational if they were all taught critical thinking, ways to identify manipulation, and all the juicy details about cognitive bias (esp the fact you can’t become immune to it, you just have to keep being observant)

I just accidentally a term for

@denikombucha The thing that irritates me most about the vaccine "debate" is that vaccination is basically the most "natural" medical treatment there is, more natural than taking ibuprofen or antibiotics. Human bodies are exposed to potentially harmful viruses and bacteria everyday and our bodies are constantly mounting an immune response to keep us healthy. Vaccines are just intentionally and safely initiating this natural life-saving response that our bodies already do. Bah.

#Linux 5.3-rc6 is out

"[…] Hello everybody out there using Linux -

I’m doing a (free) operating system (more than just a hobby) for 486 AT clones and a lot of other hardware. This has been brewing for the last 28 years, and is still not done. […]"

Hey #cccamp19, you know everything you buy from Decathlon has a long-range UHF RFID tag on it, and I have a reader with 10m range?

I don't quote remember where I did read ot, but scratch proofing your cardio with plastic from old (probably "deposit-free") bottles is really genius!

Things I liked about 80's/90's computing:
- Total control over my hardware
- Software that worked with me, not against me
- Superior aesthetics (yeah I said it :3 )
- Overall sense of promise and freedom

Things I like about computing today:
- Easy and open access to knowledge
- Insane amounts of storage
- The sheer computing POWERRRR

Now if only we could make these attributes come together instead of being period exclusive. :blobthinking:

A USB connector walks into a bar, but only after pushing the door, then pulling, and finally pushing again.

@mango My brain read "agro-forestry" as "aggro-forestry", and now I can't get a picture out of my head of mohawk-sporting punk rockers randomly planting trees everywhere while flipping off everyone around them.
...
Can this be a thing?
Please?

Toronto is the large bear from that one anime movie right?
