Qualcomm Previews Snapdragon X Elite SoC: Oryon CPU Starts in Laptops.
Oryon was supposed to run with EDK2 and proper ACPI tables. Under Qualcomm, as Windows on Arm cpu, will it get useful firmware or will it take months to get basic DeviceTree based one?
@hrw Ooh that sounds nice - any dev boards?
@hrw considering it's leveraging loss of Hexagon and Adreno, I'm betting the ladder
@hrw
This is a laptop SoC, not the Or*i*on server SoC stuffed into a laptop.
@unixsmurf ah. Names...
Thanks.
@hrw initial kernel DeviceTrees were sent out today: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-arm-kernel/20231025142427.2661-1-quic_sibis@quicinc.com/
for some obscure reason with me in CC:
@janne so it will be yet another DT based SoC :(
